The original bird was made
using, a pine cone for the body, a pine cone bract for the
tail, maple samara seeds for wings and the head was clay. The
artist/chemist has since developed a special polymer and micro tooling
techniques for hand casting and air brushing these precious
little birds. They weigh only 2.5 grams and retain all the
incredible detail of the original organic material. They are
tethered at the top with a hair like nylon tippet and move with the
slightest breath of air. Excellent for use as window decor, in plant
containers, as Christmas tree ornaments and for mobiles. They balance flawlessly and will decoy live Humming
Birds.
